Toughen the “crank” in Crankcase With the Saturn Pcv Valve

In a car, the crankshaft or the crank is a device that is used to translate reciprocating linear piston motion into rotation. It typically connects to a flywheel, to reduce the pulsation characteristic of the four-stroke cycle, which creates a torsional or vibrational damper at the opposite end in order to reduce the torsion vibrations caused by the length of the crankshaft. Given the crank’s tedious task to give the engine its highest optimization, it needs to allow a continual refreshment of the air inside it.

One vital component that ensures the possibility of this process is the Saturn Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve, or the Saturn pcv valve. The Saturn PCV Valve is only a part of the PCV System, which is a variable and calibrated air leak, causing the engine to return its crankcase combustion gases. Instead of the gases being vented to the atmosphere, gases are fed back into the intake manifold, to re-enter the combustion chamber as part of a fresh charge of air and fuel.

The PCV system diverts a small percentage of this air via the breather to the crankcase before allowing it to be drawn back in to the intake tract again. It is an “open system” in that fresh exterior where air is continuously used to flush contaminants from the crankcase and into the combustion chamber. Once inside the engine, the air circulates around the interior of the engine, picking up and clearing away combustion byproduct gases, including a large amount of water vapor, then exits through a simple baffle, screen or mesh to trap oil droplets before being drawn out through the Saturn PCV Valve, and into the intake manifold.

Entrusting this arduous task of the PCV Valve is not a small matter. It directly affects the performance of the engine, and it is prone to damage and wearing out. Hence, one must hook his crank with the Saturn PCV Valve. It is through the name Saturn that one can be assured that all of their materials are made only from the finest and most durable components. Despite the very young age of early twenties, Saturn has managed to create huge breakthroughs in the car industry, placing them in their rightful niche. So even with critical parts such as the PCV Valve, Saturn offers its best.
